What is the Bloom Pod by Elvie?
The pod is an intravaginal device used to exercise, track and measure pelvic-floor muscle movement and force. The data collected by the device is sent to the mobile app to illustrate real-time feedback on performance.
Is the pod safe?
Yes. The pod is made with medical grade silicone, is BPA free, 100% waterproof and has been through rigorous safety testing, including stamp, drop, tumble, water, irritation and heat testing. The pod uses Bluetooth Low Energy, a common and widely-used wireless standard used in commercial and medical devices. Designed for short-range transmission, it is one of the lowest power standards available. The pod has been tested and is compliant with US, EU, and UK electrical and RF safety standards. Bloom is listed with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
How do I insert the pod?
On a comfortable surface, lie down on your back with your knees bent and slightly apart, and your feet on the floor. If you'd like, put a pillow behind your knees for extra support! With the pod tail on the outside of your pelvis, insert your pod and push gently until the entire pod body (the larger part) is no longer visible.
Should I use lubricant to insert the pod?
Yes. Inserting your pod should never be painful. Apply a water-based lubricant to the outside of your pod before inserting it.
Can I use the pod with an IUD (or coil)?
The pod is completely covered in medical grade silicone with no exposed parts, and it is safe to use with the coil or IUD.
Can I use the pod when I have my period?
Whether or not you wish to use the pod during your period is entirely up to you. As with general usage, follow the cleaning guidelines in the instruction manual. Additionally, throughout your menstrual cycle, your pressure range may vary - it's just a natural fluctuation in your strength as part of your monthly cycle.
Should I clean the pod?
Yes, it is super important to always clean the pod before and after every use. You will remove the pod after every exercise session, and clean it and dry it before placing it back in the charging case.
How do I clean the pod?
Wash the pod with warm water and unscented soap, rinse it thoroughly, and let it dry completely.
Does the pod vibrate?
No, the pod does not vibrate. It was designed specifically to track and measure pelvic-floor contractions and lengthenings.
What size is the pod?
The Bloom Pod by Elvie is height: 3.14in x width: 1.4in x diameter: 1.3in and weighs 0.88oz. The pod also comes with an optional cover for custom sizing. We recommend that everyone try the pod with and without the optional cover to see which is most comfortable.
What is the extra pod cover for?
The pod comes with an optional cover for custom sizing. We recommend you test it with and without the cover to decide which is more comfortable for you. To find the right fit, first insert the pod approximately 1cm into the vaginal opening - if you tug the tail very gently, there should be a slight resistance against the vaginal opening. It is normal to feel the pod inside. If the device is not being held in place, try using it with the extra cover for a better fit. To use the extra cover, thread the tail of the pod through the hole in the cover.

How do I charge the pod?
If you are using the extra cover, remove it. Then, place the pod in the charging case and close it. The tail needs to be facing up, pointing toward the USB port. Charge the pod horizontally, not vertically. Use the cable provided to connect the charging case to a USB power source, such as your computer or power plug.
How long does the pod battery last?
During normal use, the battery will last for several weeks. If you have not used the pod for 2 weeks or more, you may need to place it in the case and charge for five seconds to wake it up. The battery level can be found in the upper right hand corner of your Bloom app during the exercise sessions.
How do I know the pod is fully charged?
Check that the light above the cable on the charging case turns on. The light will turn off when the pod is fully charged.
How do I store the pod?
Keep the pod clean, dry and snug in its charging case. To open the charging case, simply push the front end and make sure the tail is on top and facing towards the USB port. Do not expose your pod to extreme heat, extreme cold or sustained pressure.
How do I dispose of the pod?
To dispose of the pod, first clean the device. Your pod contains a Li-ion battery, and it should be recycled in accordance with the recycling authority in your local area.
